Jr. SQL Server Database Administrator (6-month contract position in White
Plains, NY)
Individual will be called upon to provide SQL Server database support to
lead DBA for a variety of project development efforts and product support
activities. Successful candidates for this position will have a solid base
understanding of database concepts and technologies and experience
administering multiple database instances, backup and recovery, managing
database performance, maintaining database security, and developing stored
procedures, functions, views, triggers, and DTS packages. BS in related
technical field is recommended.
- Experience with SQL Server 2000 and all of its components is
essential.
- Familiarity and/or experience with SQL Server 2005, Oracle 9i/10,
and diagramming tools such as Erwin 4.5 and VISIO are a plus.
- Must be able to support databases on physical and virtual Windows
2000 and Windows 2003 platforms.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential, as
is, the ability to think analytically and the ability to clearly
communicate directly with all levels of staff and user communities.
- Applicants must posses the ability to work on their own initiative
to meet deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
- Good decision making and problem solving skills are a must.
- Experience with system development lifecycle methodologies,
application development methodologies, data analysis, and logical/physical
data modeling is required.
