Scope of Work:
Systems Analyst
> with the skillset Enterprise in the Enterprise Services area.

> Background:
> Auto growth has driven the need to create auto prospecting and sales
> tools for State Farm Agents. Tools like Agent Ally and Kentucky Tool
> have been developed by agents, for agents to increase auto production
> and manage prospects. These tools are very useful however they are
> not integrated into Agent workflow making some of the agent work
> redundant and time consuming. An Auto Sales Process Enhancements has
> brought together the idea of using ABS, ECRM, EA, and NECHO. This
> solution moves the enterprise towards an integrated web solution.

> Work Description:
> Systems Analysts with Enterprise skills have a solid grasp of our
> Systems Department development practices, techniques, and information
> technology in general and have at least two broad-based application
> skills (I.E. Fire, Auto, SFPP). These individuals have strong soft
> skills such as leadership, adaptability, coordination, communication,
> and team dynamics. They typically possess very broad-based knowledge
> of State Farm and Systems and would likely function as core team
> members on major business initiatives fulfilling multiple Systems
> Analyst leadership positions. Systems Analysts are responsible to
> provide specific direction, training, and mentoring to other Systems
> Analysts, customers, and associated roles for the project team or
> service component.

> This individual will be responsible for:
> * Analyze business and system requirements, including impact
> analyses on existing systems, to develop systems specifications
> * Provide systems expertise input, including system dependencies
> and grouping of items for a release
> * Develop and maintain systems documentation such as design
> specifications, user manuals, technical manuals, description of
> application operations, methodology documentation.
> * Collaborate with other with others to develop specifications,
> implement business solutions, and resolve problems
> * Provide system software support for State Farm applications and

> * Work effectively as a team with Systems peers, end-users, and

> * Provide technical assistance, training, and mentoring to others
> * Coordinate activities within project or service components,
> which may include the planning and coordination of project resources,
> the execution of development activities, and testing. This may at
> times involve working with vendors and Computer Products
> Administration for the evaluation, planning and acquisition of
> computer products
> * Research and consult with resources and/or industry experts to
> ensure the effectiveness and efficiency of State Farm systems and
> applications
> * Coordinate and/or perform change and revision management to
> ensure inter-operability of State Farm systems
> * Participate in walkthroughs and reviews.
> * Build new and/or modify existing software to meet systems and
> design specifications including program/module design, coding, and
> unit/integration testing and review
> * Coordinate as a program administrator the management/tracking of
> issues, risks, and change requests; assisting with budget estimates
> and tracking; participating in pre-project planning and project
> activities; and coordinating the development of SFPM deliverables
> * Keep current with new and continuing changing technology
> * State Farm Knowledge would be very beneficial
> * And other duties as assigned

> * Technical/Development experience
> * Ability to handle coordination of activities for multiple
> projects
> * Attention to detail
> * Proven ability to acquire and apply new knowledge in a timely

> * Strong written and verbal communication skills
> * Ability to maintain relationships under stressful circumstances
> * Project coordination
> * Transition tasks in conjunction with implementation coordinator

> Work Phases:
> STATE FARM will provide VENDOR candidate with an initial on-the-job
> training period of an undetermined length and at STATE FARM's
> discretion will then transition the VENDOR employee into a full
> support role.

> Period of Performance:
> ASAP through no later than June 16, 2006.

Some additional information regarding my request:
1. This individual will be assigned to several different projects
within Systems.
2. A broad knowledge of the Systems Analyst role is needed.
3. Their main focus will be coordination. Similar to the Project
Manager role.
4. State Farm knowledge is not required, but Systems knowledge
would be beneficial.
5. A background, not recent, in areas like Auto, Fire, SFPP, Life,
etc. would be beneficial.
6. The may work on several different platforms and languages
depending on the projects they are assigned to.
Broad knowledge would be beneficial.
